Hello Year 6! I hope you are all safe and well. Myself and my family are all ok and have been doing our best to stay active and happy. Even though I haven’t been at school, I have still been teaching! Jackson is full of energy of course and missing nursery so I have been setting up lots of play for him where he also learns. So far we have done counting with ladybirds, made rainbows and done lots with homemade playdough.
My class particularly will remember me telling stories of the funny way Finlay bottom shuffled around but he is finally walking! Yipee!! He has also learnt to nod to answer yes and to pound his chest when asked what a monkey does. I am very proud of my boys.
Importantly, remember to do yourselves proud too; there is so much opportunity for learning despite not being in school. I too have learnt so much in these past few weeks: all about sharks and bees for example.
The year 6 teachers are always sending each other messages and doing video chats to make sure we are helping you as much as we can from home. We are so determined to do all that we can to support you. We realise it is very difficult for you all but you will want to walk through your new school gates in September knowing you did all you could to be prepared so make sure you keep up to date with the work set.
I miss you all very much; chatting to you about books (I’ve had some lovely new ones delivered), seeing your drawings 6B and hearing all about the anime films you enjoy. I can’t wait to be teaching again in our classroom 6CW, we have so many stories to tell each other I’m sure. Until then, stay safe. Thinking of you all fondly.
