Welcome to Foundation Stage Two
We are proud of the diversity of heritage and cultures within our school community and strive to celebrate and value our children’s different backgrounds.
We believe in the importance of building good relationships with our families, of sharing our learning and keeping them well informed about their child’s achievements and next steps in their learning. We do this through Class Dojo, six monthly Milestone reports and day to day conversations.
We want our children to be happy, confident, and curious learners and so our core text curriculum is full of many different stories to broaden their interests, to enrich their vocabulary and to excite their curiosity about the world around them. We aim to provide many hands on experiences which are fun, exciting and develop their communication and language skills.
We want our children to feel and know that they are safe at Dale School. We endeavour to build positive, trusting relationships with all our children; to nurture and also to encourage their independence skills. Our EYFS is a place where we want children’s voices to be valued and always listened to, a place where they can feel confident to use new words and ask any question.
Our curriculum is designed to provide all our pupils with the skills and knowledge to enable them to move to Year One and beyond as confident learners. They are supported and encouraged by a team of experienced practitioners, allowing them to develop their knowledge and skills across all seven areas of learning in the EYFS.
We have high aspirations for our children’s learning and work hard to ensure that all learners reach their potential whatever their starting point at Dale. Therefore our curriculum provides challenges whilst being aware of children’s individual needs. Our children learn best through a combination of child-led play and adult-focused learning. The children have daily “free-flow” play between indoor and outdoor areas and have access to high quality, well prepared resources to excite and provoke their learning.
