Hello Year 2,

Once again it is another week where unfortunately we can’t see your lovely faces in our classrooms! We wanted to let you all know that we are missing you and we are so proud of you all! We are proud that during this strange time you are working hard at home, reading stories, helping your families and enjoying the little things in life, like the sunshine!

This week Mrs Parr and Mr Carr have been in school teaching the children of key workers and they have enjoyed spending some time back inside the walls of Dale. Mr Carr has also taken advantage of the sunshine and he has been painting the gazebo in his garden, can you guess what colour it is?

Mrs Parr has been working extremely hard to get everything ready for when we can welcome you all back into the classrooms! Miss Helan has been spending time in the garden, planting and hanging lights that glow once the sun has gone down!

Mrs Azaim has been busy baking this week, can you guess what she has baked? She has also started fasting this week and this Ramadan she is praying at home, for the NHS and for all the people around the world who might be finding this time a little tricky.

We hope you are all staying safe by washing your hands, remaining inside and helping the people in your households. Don’t forget to clap every Thursday at 8pm for our fantastic doctors and nurses who are busy saving people and helping them to feel better! See how many people you can see from your doors and let us know by emailing us!

This week we have a little competition for you all! We would like you to take a picture of you reading your favourite book! The best picture will win a prize once we are back at school. Have a think about what book you would like to read and where in your house or garden you’ll be taking the picture! Send them across, with any other pictures of things you have done, to year2@dale.derby.sch.uk. We can’t wait to see them!
