Home Learning for Year 1
Dear Year One Children,
We hope that you are all well and are enjoying some time at home with your families (hopefully in the sunshine too!) This is just another little note to check that you are keeping yourselves out of trouble, getting plenty of rest but most importantly, that you are HAPPY. We are missing you all SO much and we really wish that we were in the classroom with you. Please know that we are so very proud of each and every one of you for continuing as best you can during these confusing and strange times! Although we want to be together in our classrooms, we must remember how important it is to stay at home to look after everybody that is poorly or working extremely hard to keep everybody safe.
Over the Easter holidays, the teachers have been keeping very busy! Miss Smith has finally managed to get some eggs from the shop! Woohoo! She has also been very busy gardening, enjoying the sunshine and cuddling her cat, Toby. Mrs Singh has also been enjoying the sunshine as well as reading lots of books and doing some cosmic yoga. Miss Roome has baked chocolate brownies, painted the garden fence and continued to write her diary. We can’t wait to hear all about what you’ve been getting up to! We are thinking of you all every single day and are hoping and praying that we’ll be back together soon. We look forward to seeing you all soon but for now, enjoy the sunshine, find different ways to relax and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
See you all soon! From Miss Roome, Miss Smith and Mrs Singh

FREE PHONICS LESSONS!
Dear Year One Parents/Carers
We are pleased to let you know that your child can receive a daily phonics lesson whilst schools are closed. Phonics is the way we teach children to recognise the sounds in words. It helps your child to learn to read and is an essential part of your child’s education.
Please make this a new task at 10.30 am every morning.
